Allied Minds Launches New Business Venture Through License Agreement With Tufts University

Investment firm Allied Minds and Tufts University team to commercialize novel algorithms to accelerate and enhance a wide set of processing applications

BOSTON, June 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Allied Minds, a pre-seed investment corporation specializing in early stage university business ventures, and Tufts University announce the creation of BA Logix Inc. Boolean Accelerator Logic Systems or, BA Logix, will commercialize robust and computationally efficient accelerated algorithms for digital systems. Developed at Tufts University's School of Engineering, the algorithms use a novel methodology that can be applied to imaging and compression technologies resulting in fast and efficient implementations in either hardware or software.

"Our approach works on bit level image processing, which lends itself better to solving certain data processing and transmission problems, such as those found in medical, text, audio and video applications," said Dr. Karen Panetta, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering at Tufts, who is co-founder of BA Logix along with Dr. Sos Agaian. "Our technology can support a broad set of end users and optimize their wireless, security, video and signal processing needs."

"We're very pleased to be working with the team at BA Logix, http://www.BALogix.com. Our focus has been primarily in the biotechnology sector but we have been looking to branch out of the life sciences arena and found BA Logix and Tufts University to be a good fit," said Allied Minds Chief Operating Officer Marc Eichenberger.
